Your 5th grade students participated in our Raptors in the Classroom program this past spring as 4th grade
students. To complement that classroom experience
(or even as a stand alone program), Hawk Ridge developed the
Experience Hawk Ridge program and is offering the
field trips
to 5th grade classrooms throughout area schools.
Students will expand upon their knowledge and experience with raptors by viewing the migration firsthand and
learning about the research that goes on up at Hawk Ridge. Students will see a live, banded bird in the hand and compete with our professional counters in a
fun activity after learning how to identify raptors in flight!
Your experience with our
educators will last 90 minutes, although you are welcome to take
advantage of our many outdoor opportunities on your own outside of
your program time! We prefer not to combine classes—our
lessons are designed and we have equipment
available for classes of up to 36
students.
